7K Metals, a company known for its multi-level marketing (MLM) structure in precious metals, is shifting to a single-tier affiliate marketing model in 2026. This change comes as precious metal prices rise, impacting compensation plans and customer buying habits. The transition affects team-building commissions, prompting members to diversify their business ventures and adapt to the new affiliate agreement.
If you have been involved in the multi-level marketing (MLM) industry, you are likely familiar with companies shutting down or altering their compensation plans. Typically, the agreements signed by affiliates include a clause allowing the company to change compensation plans at their discretion. Companies operate as businesses aiming to make money, pay employees, and keep affiliates or team members satisfied.
Recently, 7K Metals announced a significant change. The company is moving away from its traditional binary MLM structure to a simpler affiliate marketing model with a single-tier commission system. This transition was communicated through official emails titled "The Next Chapter" and "Associate Agreement and Official Notice."
The binary MLM structure, which involved multiple levels of commissions and team-building incentives, is being removed. Instead, 7K Metals will adopt a flat affiliate agreement. Although the exact language of the new agreement is not yet public, the company mentioned potential commissions of up to 10% on sales of coins, bullion, collectibles, and jewelry. However, commissions on team purchases or multi-level earnings will no longer be available.
The price of precious metals has been rising steadily. For example, silver coins that once cost $20 to $40 have increased to $110 to $150. Gold prices have also surged from under $4,000 to around $5,000 per ounce. This price increase has affected buying habits, with some customers pulling back due to higher costs.
These market changes have pressured 7K Metals to adjust their pricing and compensation plans to maintain business viability. The company’s need to set sustainable margins likely influenced the decision to simplify the compensation structure.
As a member since December, I have invested time and money into 7K Metals, including creating content and training others. I possess physical silver and gold coins and use the Sound Money Wallet, a separate entity from 7K Metals, which is not affected by the compensation plan changes and is even being improved.
Despite the MLM structure being removed, I plan to continue investing in gold and silver through the Sound Money Wallet and may purchase collectibles or bullion if prices are favorable. However, I will no longer promote 7K Metals as a team-building opportunity due to the removal of the MLM structure.
Given these changes, it is crucial to have a diversified portfolio and multiple income streams. I have been involved in various industries for many years, including technology, health and nutrition, fitness, and supplements. These ventures allow me to offer different opportunities to people based on their interests.
When joining any company, it is important to review the agreement to ensure you can promote other non-competitive products or services. This flexibility helps maintain income stability if one business model changes unexpectedly.
