Home Team Sunday is a time for us to come together as a community. It’s a reminder that we are not alone in our journey of faith. Dave emphasizes that our church, Tidings Church, is a community of five campuses in central Texas, united in our mission to glorify God.
Dave begins by discussing the concept of expectations. We often have expectations in various aspects of our lives, whether it’s our children’s behavior or our own plans. However, Jesus did not fit this mold. Instead of being a political leader, He traveled from city to city, healing the sick, casting out demons, and advocating for love and service.
Jesus introduced the idea of an upside-down kingdom, one that defied cultural norms and expectations. He did not come to lead an army but to serve others. This radical approach challenges us to reconsider our own misconceptions about Jesus and His teachings.
