Moses responded, "Here I am." The voice instructed him not to come any closer and to take off his sandals, declaring, "For you are standing on Holy Ground. I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. I have seen the suffering of my people in Egypt and have heard their cries. I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring my people out of Egypt."
Despite the divine calling, Moses expressed his doubts. "But Lord, who am I to go to Pharaoh? I'm just a shepherd. What if they don't believe me?" God reassured him, saying, "I will be with you, and this will be the sign: when you bring the people out of Egypt, you will worship me on this mountain."
Moses continued to question, asking, "What if they ask me your name? What should I tell them?" God replied, "I am who I am. Tell them I am has sent me to you."
With God's assurance, Moses resolved to go. "I will go, Lord. With your help, I will do as you say." God promised to give Moses the words to say and to perform wonders to assist him in his mission.
With a heavy heart but a determined spirit, Moses packed his belongings, said goodbye to his sheep and family, and set off for Egypt as God had commanded.
