Selamat pagi dan salam sejahtera. In this beautiful morning, we gather to reflect on the Word of God, focusing on a powerful message from 1 John 2:24. This verse reminds us of the necessity of remaining steadfast in our faith and connection with God.
The scripture states: "Adapun kamu apa yang telah kamu dengar sejak semula harus tetap tinggal di dalam kamu. Jika apa yang telah kamu dengar sejak semula itu tetap tinggal di dalam kamu, kamu akan tetap tinggal di dalam Anak dan di dalam Bapa." This verse emphasizes the importance of remaining in what we have learned from the beginning. The phrase "tetap tinggal" (to remain) appears three times, underscoring its significance.
To remain means to be united with God, akin to the relationship between a vine and its branches. Just as a branch separated from the vine cannot survive, we too must stay connected to God to thrive spiritually. God desires that none of His children perish; thus, He calls us to remain in Him.
The only way to achieve this connection is not through wealth, intelligence, or other worldly means, but by remaining in the Father and the Son. This relationship reflects the unity of the Holy Trinity—God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. It is through this unity that we can live in the power and presence of God.
When we remain in God, we are reminded and taught by His Spirit to be obedient to His Word. This call from the Apostle John encourages us to maintain our faith. By staying connected to God, our passion for Him grows, and we develop a closer relationship with Him.
Just as plants depend on soil and fish on water, we must depend solely on God. He is our source of life and salvation. There is no other way; by remaining in Him, we receive eternal life and experience His strength in our daily lives. This connection allows us to lead meaningful lives that positively impact those around us.
