Join us on an exciting journey to Efteling for the New Year's Eve party, traveling by sleeper coach. Experience the unique accommodations, the ferry ride to France, and the first day at the park filled with thrilling rides and memorable moments.
Welcome to a brand new vlog as we embark on an exciting adventure to Efteling for the New Year's Eve party! This journey is particularly special as we are traveling by sleeper coach, a completely new experience for me. I’ve brought along my friend Jonathan, and we are both thrilled to share this journey with you.
Our journey begins on a double-decker sleeper coach, which is quite luxurious compared to standard coaches. The coach is equipped with bunk beds, a living area, a kitchen, and even a bathroom. It can accommodate up to 16 people, and it’s completely sold out for this trip.
As we settle in, I give you a tour of the coach. The interior is modern and comfortable, with a warm atmosphere. We have a kettle, a sink, and a cozy living area where we can relax and enjoy the ride. Jonathan and I test out our bunks, and despite my height of 6'3", I find it surprisingly comfortable.
After about half an hour on the road, we start to feel relaxed and comfortable. We take a brief stop at a service station, where we meet some fellow travelers, including Emily, the winner of a competition. Everyone seems to be enjoying the journey so far.
As we continue our trip, I reflect on how different this experience is compared to a standard coach ride. The sleeper coach offers a much more enjoyable and luxurious experience.
After a few hours, we arrive at the ferry terminal. It’s around 2:00 AM, and I’m feeling quite tired. We board the ferry, but due to the weather, the outer decks are closed. I grab a quick breakfast of a sausage and egg sandwich and hot chocolate, which is decent for the time of night.
Once on board, we explore the ferry, which has a duty-free shop and various food options. I find the food selection to be quite basic but satisfactory for our needs. After breakfast, we settle in for the journey across the water.
After a restful sleep on the ferry, we finally arrive in France and make our way to Efteling. I’m excited to show Jonathan and Emily around the park, especially since it’s their first visit. We arrive at the park and are greeted by the enchanting House of the Five Senses, which sets the tone for our magical day ahead.
Our first stop is the popular ride, Droomvlucht (Dream Flight), which is a must-do for any visitor. The ride is just as captivating as I remember, and it’s great to see Jonathan and Emily’s reactions. We then head over to Baron 1898, a dive coaster that I haven’t ridden since my last visit. The theming and experience are impressive, and we all agree it’s much better than Oblivion.
Next, we explore Symbolica, which offers three different experiences. We take a ride and enjoy the unique elements of the attraction. The queues are manageable, and we’re able to enjoy several rides throughout the day.
After a few thrilling rides, we take a break for lunch. I share a funny moment where I get pooped on by a seagull, which adds a bit of humor to our day. We then head to Python, a classic coaster, and Yoris under the dra, which is a dueling coaster that provides a fantastic experience.
As the day progresses, we continue to enjoy various attractions, including Vogel Rok, a dark ride that surprises us with its smoothness and thrilling moments. We also take a ride on Fata Morgana, which is always a favorite.
As the sun sets, the park transforms into a magical wonderland. We reflect on the incredible day we’ve had, filled with laughter, excitement, and unforgettable experiences. I want to extend a huge thank you to Corin and the team at Phoenix Adventures for making this trip possible.
