After a rain delay in September, the first-ever Backyard Bash 90's edition is finally happening. Mark your calendars for Friday, February 6th, from 5:00 to 9:00 PM at Mark Coronado Park. This free, all-ages event, proudly presented by Toyota of Surprise, promises a night filled with throwback excitement.

Ring in the New Year with the Live at Asante concert series, featuring five free outdoor concerts running through May. These performances celebrate America's 250th anniversary by highlighting the musical roots that have shaped the nation.

Surprise is honored to host the Wall That Heals this spring, a three-quarter scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. This powerful exhibit bears the names of the 58,281 men and women who sacrificed their lives in service to the country.
The Wall That Heals includes a mobile education center to provide visitors with a deeper understanding of the memorial's significance. Stay updated at thewallthatheals2026.surpriseaz.gov.
To improve traffic flow, especially for left-turning vehicles, the city has updated the traffic signal operations at the intersection of Bell and Litchfield Roads based on a dual left turn assessment.
Additionally, a new campaign reminds drivers to yield on flashing yellow arrow signals. New road signs will appear in medians at ten intersections throughout Surprise where flashing yellow signals are used.
The Parks and Recreation Department is updating its master plan to reinvest in existing parks, promote various recreational activities, create a connected park system, and explore opportunities for new parks and open spaces.
Public engagement is central to shaping the future of parks, trails, and recreation programs in Surprise. The updated master plan is expected to be completed by summer 2026.
