Welcome back to another exciting update on the C8 ZR1. After three months and 2,500 miles of pure stock performance, it’s time to enhance the car with some aesthetic and performance upgrades. In this post, we will explore the modifications made to the ZR1, including new lowering springs and custom wheels, and provide insights into the installation process.
The modifications for the C8 ZR1 include:
The stock fitment of the C8 ZR1 leaves a noticeable gap between the wheels and the fenders. To improve the car's stance and aesthetics, a full set of lowering springs was provided by Paragon Performance. These springs will not only lower the car but also enhance its overall look by adjusting the fitment of the wheels.
E5 Wheels sent over a set of their Talladega wheels, specifically designed for Corvettes. These wheels are made from forged aluminum and feature a natural brushed finish that complements the car's design while standing out. The custom offset ensures that the wheels sit flush with the fenders, enhancing the car's aggressive appearance.
Before installing the new wheels, they underwent a ceramic coating process to protect them from dirt and debris. Peter Tan, an automotive detailing expert, guided the process:

The new wheels and springs significantly improved the fitment of the ZR1. The wheels now sit flush with the fenders, eliminating the gap that was present with the stock setup. This change not only enhances the car's visual appeal but also contributes to better handling dynamics.
Each new wheel is approximately 10 pounds lighter than the stock ZR1 wheels, resulting in a total weight savings of around 40 pounds. This reduction in weight can lead to improved performance and handling.
Despite the stiffer ride that often accompanies lowering springs, the new setup maintains a comfortable driving experience. The owner noted that the ride quality is comparable to stock, making the modifications both functional and enjoyable.
