Drawing from personal experiences with partners of all genders and professional expertise, the author shares insights on intimacy, pleasure, and the importance of lived experience in enhancing sexual education and connection.
My sexuality is my superpower. As many of you know, I identify as bisexual or pansexual. Pride Month is a perfect time to talk about this because being a queer woman is genuinely one of the biggest reasons I'm good at my job.
The Power of Queer Experience
Having received pleasure from people of all genders and having given pleasure to people of all genders, I have a unique perspective on intimacy and sexual pleasure. This broad spectrum of experience allows me to understand and teach about pleasure in a way that is inclusive and deeply informed.
Teaching About Pleasure Across All Bodies
When I teach my listeners how to read a partner, I talk about what works on a vulva, on a penis, and on every kind of body. This comprehensive approach is rooted in my lived experience as well as my education.
The Intersection of Lived Experience and Expertise
The combination of lived experience and professional expertise is what queerness gave me. It allows me to get into the intimate, the playful, and yes, the kinky aspects of sexuality with confidence and authenticity.
Conclusion
Embracing my queer identity has not only empowered me personally but has also enhanced my ability to educate and connect with others about women's pleasure and intimacy. It is a reminder that sexuality, when embraced fully, can be a powerful tool for understanding and connection.
