Nebius Brings Up a Vera Rubin Rack in Finland, With Customer Readiness Still Ahead
Nebius says it has brought up its first full NVIDIA Vera Rubin NVL72 rack in Finland. The deployment is an early integration milestone backed by a $2 billion NVIDIA private placement, but the company still has software and production testing to complete before customers can use it.
- Nebius says its first full NVIDIA Vera Rubin NVL72 rack has reached the bring-up and validation stage at a Finnish data center.
- Its own update says software polishing and production-grade testing are still required before customers receive the system.
- The milestone puts Nebius in an early group, but CoreWeave had announced a validated Rubin rack in June and NVIDIA has named several other cloud providers for 2026 availability.
Nebius, the Amsterdam-headquartered Nasdaq-listed company building a full-stack AI cloud, says it has brought up its first full NVIDIA Vera Rubin NVL72 rack at its Finland data center. The company’s announcement says the newly delivered Spectrum-6 switches and the compute system are being brought up together by the same on-site teams.
That is a meaningful test of deployment capability, but not a customer launch. Nebius says that, after bring-up and validation, it must still polish the software and run production-grade tests before Vera Rubin reaches customers. It has not given a date for access to this Finnish rack, published customer-workload results, or disclosed pricing.

A rack-scale deployment, not a cloud service yet
Vera Rubin NVL72 is NVIDIA’s new rack-scale system: 72 Rubin GPUs and 36 Vera CPUs linked by NVLink 6, plus ConnectX-9 SuperNICs and BlueField-4 data-processing units. NVIDIA says in its platform release that the hardware is designed for distinct phases of AI work, including pretraining, post-training, test-time scaling and real-time agentic inference.
The system’s value therefore depends on more than a GPU count. NVIDIA says NVL72 is meant to connect into large clusters through Quantum-X800 InfiniBand or Spectrum-X Ethernet. Nebius’s emphasis on having its Spectrum-6 fabric arrive with the compute rack is evidence that network integration is part of the job. It does not establish that the finished cloud service will meet a particular reliability, latency or cost target.
Nebius has already positioned itself as an NVIDIA Cloud Partner with experience offering other NVIDIA generations. In January, it said Rubin would complement its existing GB200 NVL72 and Grace Blackwell Ultra NV72 capacity, and that it planned to offer Rubin through Nebius AI Cloud and Nebius Token Factory, its inference and post-training platform, in the second half of 2026. The describes that as a US-and-Europe deployment plan, rather than a promise that the first Finnish rack is already commercially available.
