In the kitchen, Timmy grabbed a mop, a bucket of water, and plenty of soap. As he started mopping, bubbles began to form everywhere. His mother noticed the excessive soap and was surprised but chose to encourage him instead of criticizing. She said, "Oh, um Timmy. Thank you for helping. Keep up the good work." Next, Timmy moved to the living room to dust. As he dusted, the floating dust particles irritated his nose, causing him to sneeze. His mother, watching TV, smiled and appreciated his effort, saying, "I appreciate you helping around." Timmy completed the dusting and put away the duster.
Back in the kitchen, Timmy began washing the dishes. He turned on the sink and let the water flow while scrubbing with a sponge. After washing and drying, he tried to put the dishes away but didn’t notice the sink was overflowing. Water spilled onto the floor, and Timmy slipped, falling and breaking the dishes.
Upset and crying, Timmy apologized to his mother, saying, "Mom, I'm sorry I failed you. I tried to help out with the dishes, but I broke them."
His mother comforted him, "You didn't fail me. You just need a little hand. It was too much for you to handle. Let me clean this mess up for you. Go rest in your room. You've done enough."
Timmy felt overwhelmed by the tasks he had taken on alone. His mother came to talk to him in his room and said, "Timmy, I know you were trying to help out, but sometimes you just need a little help. You can just ask for help. I will be more than happy to help you out."
Timmy promised, "Okay, Mom. I promise I will ask for help when I need it. Thanks, Mom."
