In this heartfelt announcement, we share the difficult news of our separation and how it will affect our sailing adventures and YouTube channel. While we part ways personally, we remain best friends and continue our love for sailing in different ways. Ben will continue the channel and boat life with the dogs, while MP will gain more sailing experience elsewhere. We appreciate your support and invite you to follow both our journeys.
Hello everyone,
Today, we are sharing a video that we hoped we would never have to make. Because you are like family to us, we want to be open and honest with you about some significant changes in our lives. Unfortunately, this is not happy news.
We have decided to separate and go our own ways. This is incredibly tough to say and even harder to talk about. Emotions are running high, and tears are inevitable. We never imagined this would happen, as we always believed we would be together forever.
Despite the separation, we remain best friends and good friends. Our bond will continue, but from a distance. I will continue sailing alone on the boat with the dogs, and MP is always welcome to join me on any journeys. However, she will not be appearing in every YouTube episode or patron post anymore.
The YouTube channel will continue with me, Ben, at the helm. I am still figuring out how to manage the boat and the channel alone, especially with thousands of miles to cover this year. MP has her own adventures ahead, which she will keep you updated on.
We are deeply thankful for all the support you have given us. We felt it was important to share this news face-to-face rather than just writing about it.
The stress of rebuilding after COVID and other challenges took a toll on us. Regarding the future of our boat, Yaba, I am more skilled, stronger, and more experienced in sailing. MP acknowledges she still has much to learn and does not feel ready to continue alone on the boat.
Therefore, it makes logical sense for me to continue with Yaba and the channel. The dogs will stay with me as well, as this is their home.
MP's personal goal now is to gain more sailing experience by crewing on other boats and seeking new opportunities. She hopes that one day she will be experienced enough to return to Yaba and take over.
Many of you follow MP closely, and she plans to document her new adventures. She loves boat life and intends to continue sailing, diving, and exploring. She may share her experiences through her newsletter or possibly a new YouTube channel, though she is unsure about the latter without me.
Once she decides, she will share where you can follow her journey. For now, she trusts that Yaba is in the best hands with me.
Our plans to sail up the Brazilian coast, chase whale seasons, participate in regattas, and visit Fernando de Noronha are still on. You are more than welcome to join these adventures.
We hope you will continue to follow Yaba's amazing adventures with me and the dogs. This separation was not in vain, and we want to see the cup half full despite the sadness.
Thank you for supporting us through the highs and lows, the good times and the challenges. This is definitely a low point, but we will rise again.
We apologize for the sad news but wanted you to hear it directly from us before any speculation arises.
MP has some very exciting plans ahead, so instead of one adventure, you will have two to follow. It might not seem like a treat now, but we believe it will be.
Thank you for being part of our journey. We look forward to sharing more with you soon.
Stay tuned and take care.
